In what has been described as a shocking move by the Federal Government of Nigeria, the price of Premium Motor Spirit/Petrol has been increased back to N156 per liter.

News of plans to increase the fuel price had been circulating across the nation but few Nigerians believed the Nigerian Government will follow through with its rumoured plans.

“This is the height of insensitivity especially following the fuel subsidy removal strikes earlier this year” the Deputy President of the NLC, Mr Joe Ajaero, told journalists in Lagos once the news broke. “I am afraid the nation will have to revert back to an indefinite strike once again, but this time it will be total and comprehensive.”

In addition, Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has vowed to implement a complete shutdown of operations following the news.

Meanwhile, following the news, President Goodluck Jonathan of Nigeria was forced to shut down his Facebook account as thousands of Nigerians have since flooded his wall with vitriol and curses. Facebook Founder, Mark Zuckerberg was said to have personally placed a call to Aso Rock in a fit as the level of bitterness by Nigerians was too much for his servers to bear. Watch the video here.
